LOTM Notes – July 11, 2024

Good Morning everyone:

The Market: Summer doldrums but we have gold, silver and mining stocks perking up and Crypto/Blockchain related stocks hanging in there while crypto itself is in a correction mode. That is very healthy. Basically, the accounts are doing very well so what’s to say – enjoy. If one is in mining companies and blockchain companies, LOTM focus at this time, you should be at least neutral and likely in a bullish mode. Continue reading

Three Ideas all related to Crypto & Blockchain

  • Bitdeer (BTDR*) $6.45
  • Chainlink (LINK) $17.68
  • Galaxy Digital (BRPHF*) $10.81

Posted June 4, 2024: Lots of action happening in the market. I have been traveling with family events and am back to work. Quick thoughts we move into the day.

Bitdeer (BTDR*) $6.45 –

I’m looking at Bitdeer as a one to four-year opportunity. First price goal is $15.00 plus or minus a dollar or two. Potential is for a double short-term capital gain. More potential after that but let’s get the double first.

They just raised $150 million dollars, so they are cashed up. This following Q1 2024 where their EBITDA was around $100 million positive from operations. Most bitcoin miners had a great quarter due to tax law changes that allowed them to treat crypto appreciation from crypto held, as earnings gains. Bitdeer sells their bitcoin mined on the day they receive it. This is a big operational difference in ability to create income and asset appreciation. Bitdeer is the global leader in this area. Bitdeer also designed its own crypto computer chip. And machine. They have partnered with Nvidia (NVDA) $1150 to produce and sell this chip. They are also working with Continue reading

Update for LOTM: Ten Under $10, Games #1 and #2.

The stock market runs in cycles that historically have run between three to five years. There are additional market cycles that are both shorter and longer. Three to five years is the cycle we are focused on here.

We are heading into the conclusion of year four of the LOTM: Ten Under $10 for the Double. We have had some very big winners and some disasters. We still own some names that we believe can recover from their poor performance. Like any activity, assessing and refreshing the process is necessary for improvement. Our way of dealing with this is to wind down Game One as we head into the last few months of year four of the three to five year cycle. By winding down I mean not adding any new names to Game One and let the current positions run their course. We have some good winners that can continue winning. We have had some performance disasters that might, and hopefully, will recover. Thinking positively, we have some value as tax loss position to shelter gains from the multi-bag winners we have or might get. The mining sector is in what we believe is the first third of a bull market phase. We have a lot of mining stocks underwater we believe can recover in pricing. Continue reading
